Day One: Exploring the City

Start your day off by visiting the famous Bund, a waterfront promenade that offers gorgeous views of the city skyline. Cross the Huangpu River to the Pudong district to see the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower and Jin Mao Tower. If you have the time, take a ride on the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel, a unique way to travel under the river.

Next, head to Yu Garden, a 400-year-old classical Chinese garden. Stroll through the beautiful foliage and intricate architecture before trying some traditional Shanghai snacks in the nearby Yuyuan Bazaar. Don't forget to bargain with the vendors to get the best price!

In the afternoon, visit the Shanghai Museum, which holds over 120,000 pieces of ancient Chinese art and artifacts. From pottery to jade figurines, you'll be fascinated by all the treasures on display.

Finish your day by taking a walk around Xintiandi, a trendy pedestrian street filled with shops, restaurants, and bars. Admire the beautiful Shikumen-style architecture and indulge in some delicious food and drinks.

Day Two: Day Trip to Suzhou

Take a break from the bustling city and take a day trip to Suzhou, a beautiful city about an hour away by train. Known as the "Venice of the East," Suzhou is famous for its stunning canals, historic gardens, and traditional architecture.

Start by visiting the Humble Administrator's Garden, one of the most famous classical Chinese gardens in the country. Meander through the winding paths and admire the beautiful pavilions and water features.

Next, take a boat ride down the Grand Canal to see the charming canal-side homes and businesses. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant to sample some of Suzhou's famous dishes, such as "Squirrel-Shaped Mandarin Fish" and "Biluochun Tea."

In the afternoon, visit the Lingering Garden, another stunning classical Chinese garden. Marvel at the intricate rock formations and the beautiful flowers and trees.

Before heading back to Shanghai, don't forget to stop by Pingjiang Road, a picturesque pedestrian street lined with old houses, cafes, and shops.

Day Three: Modern Shanghai

Start your day by visiting the Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world. Take the elevator to the observation deck on the 118th floor for breathtaking views of the city.

Next, head to Tianzifang, a trendy arts and crafts enclave located in the former French Concession. Browse the boutiques and galleries for unique souvenirs to bring back home.

In the afternoon, visit the Shanghai World Financial Center, another skyscraper with an observation deck offering stunning views of the city. Afterwards, visit the nearby Jin Mao Tower, home to the luxurious Grand Hyatt hotel.

Finish your day by taking a nighttime cruise on the Huangpu River. Admire the neon-lit skyscrapers and the beautiful Bund, which is especially stunning when illuminated at night.
